Object Theory

This series of vases is intended to provoke the question of how we identify and define the objects around us. As a vase is put through a series of changes, as it begins to lose form and function, when too does it lose its identity and cease to be a vase?

These earthenware vases were slip cast, then manipulated by hand and gravity.
